Central CA musician Christopher Pearre emerges as a top synthesist with the soothing and ethereal spirit emanating from his original euphonic dreamscrapes. His new album, “Dream Slate” (Available at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/synthesist ), captures his longtime experience with the synthesizer and is truly something special in the genre.
Chris has been making a distinguishing contribution to jazz, rock, and new age music since the mid-seventies. Over the years he’s played with local rock band greats like the Ravens, Galaxy, and the Eargoggles. In 2001 he joined up with the smooth jazz group, James Michael Joseph, and recently produced music for the independent film, “Spot Check”. He currently is playing with Harrison Weese and Mark Gosney in Medesto’s legendary Hari Kari band.
His musical influences include Genesis, ELP, Yes, Synergy, Kraftwerk, and Tangerine Dream among many. It was a near death experience in 2003 that ultimately led to the spiritual awareness and understanding of tone and frequency as a healing tool that we no doubt hear in Dream Slate. Chris tells us his inspiration for the album came from a dream:
“I had an Epiphany and went to my synths, closed my eyes and recreated the music that I had just experienced in my dream.” – Chris Pearre
In April 2011 Chris was voted by listeners into astreauxworld.com’s the Top Ten List.
In short, Chris Pearre is an artist that has paid his dues and lent his musical talent to many bands and musical genres over the years, which is why we’re excited to hear a culmination of his talent and spiritual awareness beautifully arranged on his album “Dream Slate”. – Definitely worth a listen if you haven’t.
